Conversion of parking garage at Horburg-Park in Basel
In the winter semester 2020/21, the MA building design and urban planning design dealt with the topic "Primary school at Horburg-Park Basel" and was supervised by Prof. Heike Hanada and the Basel architect Dr. Ernst Spycher. An old, existing parking garage at Horburg-Park in Basel was converted into an elementary school as part of the design. Now, three years later, the parking garage has been taken up by politicians and the Basel Grand Council is calling for the parking garage to be converted into a neighborhood parking facility. This means that the drafts for the primary school that we drew up at the time are once again receiving attention. The editor Isabelle Thommen of the Basler Zeitung devotes an article to this conversion on 01.02.24.
