Welcome to the Chair of Building Typologies
The focus in teaching and research is design and the related theory of architecture. This ranges from public buildings to industrial construction. Among other things, special emphasis is placed on the study of public space and the different typologies of gardens and other landscape spaces.
The Chair of Building Typologies was founded in 1991 under the Berlin architect Prof. Jürgen Sawade as the Chair of Industrial Building, transformed under Prof. Max Dudler and Prof. Walter A. Noebel into the Chair of Building Theory and today, with Prof. Heike Hanada, it defines itself as the Chair for Building Typologies.
